Wallace Arnold M115 UWY at the Smoke House Inn, Beck Row – 3 Jun 1996 (315-23A)

Week commencing 3 June 1996 - The Smoke House Inn at Beck Row near Mildenhall was rather popular with a number of different tour companies large and small using it as a base for their five day tours to different East Anglian tourist spots like Cambridge, Constable Country, Norfolk Broads, Suffolk Villages etc. The coaches tended to arrive on Monday afternoons and leave on Friday mornings.

Wallace Arnold Tours M115 UWY, a Plaxton Premiere 320 bodied Volvo B10M new in April 1995, was parked at the Smoke House during a ‘Cambridge and Suffolk Villages’ tour.

The 1995 intake of coaches to the Wallace Arnold Tours fleet included 35 Plaxton bodied Volvo B10M coaches (M101-135 UWY). As far as I am aware this was the total for the year somewhat lower in the previous few years. Approximate numbers of new coaches were 1990 (54), 1991 (61), 1992 (55), 1993 (50) and 1994 (65).
