Pullmanor (Redwing Coaches) M234 LYT near Buckingham Palace, London – 28 Jan 1996 (297-32)

Sunday 28 January 1996 – Pullmanor (Redwing Coaches) of London SE5 M234 LYT, a Plaxton Premiere 350 bodied Volvo B10M new in February 1995, seen in Bressenden Place near Buckingham Palace, London. Part of the latter is visible in the left background.

Perhaps it was the time of year but this coach barely one year old looked rather down at heel compared with other vehicles I have seen over the years operating with Redwing. The lack of some front wheel embellishment doesn’t help either.

The rather stark rendered wall of the Rubens Hotel now features a vertical living wall garden. The hotel website tells that the creation features 10,000 plants comprising 22 species chosen to make a natural show throughout the year that will attract and give a food source to birds and insects. The wall, weighing about 10 tonnes, has an inbuilt drip-fed irrigation system delivering 1 litre of water per square metre with a facility to store water during rainfall periods.
