Stagecoach Cambus 47352 (AE06 TWP) in Great Wilbraham - 3 Aug 2006 (562-34)

Thursday 3 August 2006 (approx. 1420) – From Monday 24 July 2006 Stagecoach Cambus was awarded the contract to operate the Cambridgeshire County Council contract to operate service 16 (Cambridge to Haverhill) and service 17 (Cambridge to Newmarket) which operated via Cherry Hinton, Teversham, Fulbourn, etc. Both services had previously been operated by Burtons Coaches of Havehill although before that award Cambus had been the operator. I drove on both services whilst at Burtons and I have to say they were among my favourite runs.

Stagecoach Cambus coordinated the new schedule and merged it with their service 8 to provide through workings to Fen Estate at Chesterton on the north side of the city. Optare Solo 47352 (AE06 TWP), almost brand new having entered service in the previous month, was seen in Great Wilbraham when working the 1325 service 17 from Chesterton (1340 from Emmanuel Street) to Newmarket.
