Sunday 25 July 2021 (1050) – This novelty Routemaster bus was being unloaded from a trailer for display at The Fenland Busfest at Whittlesey. The rally is held in the town centre occupying Market Street and Broad Street with the rally control/bus ride departures centred on the Market Place.

Seating capacity is just one and that is for the driver! In addition to the large advert for Bassett’s Liquorice Allsorts the adverts either side of the destination apertures promote the coaching business of Dew’s Coaches of Somersham.

The miniature Routemaster was originally professionally made for an amusement park, where it ran on a guided track, its battery powered,. There were believed to be 4 others It was acquired by its owner David Dew (with striped shirt in pic) from a scrap yard and restored so that it could be driven independently of track. It originally had the number plate LON 001 but was re numbered WLT664 ( real RM) upon restoration.
