Autonomous vehicle trial, Cambridge - 16 Jun 2021 (P1080635)

Wednesday 16 June 2021 (1052) - During June 2021 trials of driverless shuttle vehicles were carried out in west Cambridge as part of a Government funded project through Innovate UK conducted by the Greater Cambridge Partnership, Smart Cambridge and engineering firm Aurrigo Driverless Technology.

The trial location was based on the Madingley Road Park and Ride site with vehicles operating to the nearby physical science and technology site of Cambridge University mainly along Charles Babbage Road to the Cavendish Laboratory.

BD20 RJU is seen on the University site in driverless mode. It had been in the control of a driver from the Park and Ride site having just switched over to autonomous mode.
