Stagecoach East 15202 (YN64 ANX) in Swaffham Bulbeck - 11 May 2021 (P1080302)

Tuesday 11 May 2021 (1222) – A quick snapshot from the car whilst sat at Swaffham Bulbeck village green under threatening clouds. Stagecoach East 15202 (YN64 ANX), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in November 2014, passes through when working the 1150 service 11 from Cambridge to Bury St. Edmunds. Now sporting the ocean green livery it lacks any graphics save for the Busway logo on the rear upper deck window.

Service 11 takes 1 hour 17 minutes to travel from Cambridge to Newmarket (1307) where the bus takes a break of 17 minutes (1324) before continuing to Bury St. Edmunds, a further 25 minutes (1349). By using service 12 which travels a more direct route between Cambridge and Newmarket taking 35 minutes, a passenger could leave Cambridge at 1225 arriving in Newmarket at 1300 and change to this bus there. That still isn’t good compared with the hourly direct through service that once operated. (Service X11 provides a couple of through morning commuter services between Bury St. Edmunds and Cambridge covering the journey in 1 hour 9 minutes)
