Ambassador Travel 916 (C916 BPW) near Barton Mills – 18 Mar 1990 (113-22)

Sunday 18 March 1990 - Ambassador Travel MCW Metroliner 916 (C916 BPW), new in March 1986, seen travelling down Chalk Hill near Barton Mills when working the 0930 London (Victoria) to Great Yarmouth National Express ‘Rapide’ service 599.

‘Rapide’ services featured vehicles with toilet and catering facilities and made less frequent refreshment/toilet stops (if indeed making any at all) and therefore reduced the journey times.

The front upper deck seat seems totally wasted on the man sitting sideways reading and ignoring the Suffolk countryside.
