Extract from the Stagecoach in Cambridge Newmarket Road Park & Ride service PR2 (P1070227)

For a number of years there has been a single early morning bus service starting from Stetchworth running to Cambridge with a homeward single journey back to Stetchworth around 1730. From time to time the morning journey (as service 17) formed one of my regular duties when I drove for Burtons Coaches on which the vehicles used were usually Mercedes-Benz Vario small sized buses. The journeys between the service 17 trips were operated as service 16 travelling to/from Newmarket, both shared a common route from the end of Station Road (the turning for Dullingham) on the A1304.

When Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) took over the service Optare Solo small buses were employed but at some stage later still the Stetchworth trips became adjuncts to the Citi 3 service extended beyond Fulbourn.

However, from Monday 27 July 2020 the Stetchworth trips were added to the Newmarket Road Park and Ride service PR2. Monday to Friday the morning bus leaves Stetchworth at 0641 and travels via Dullingham, Six Mile Bottom, Little Wilbraham, Great Wilbraham, Fulbourn and Teversham. After serving Teversham at 0720 the bus runs via Airport Way and the A1303 to then become the 0730 departure from the Newmarket Road Park and Ride site. On Saturdays the departure time from Stetchworth is 0741 and all the timings one hour later.
