First Eastern Counties buses at Bury St. Edmunds garage - 29 Apr 2001 (477-26)

First Eastern Counties buses at Bury St. Edmunds garage - 29 Apr 2001 (477-26)
Saturday 29 September 2001 – A collection of vehicles seen at the First Eastern Counties garage in Cotton Lane, Bury St. Edmunds.

On the left is 92 (F151 XYG), a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Olympian new in November 1988 as Yorkshire Rider 5151.

Centre is 91 (FUM 495Y), a Eastern Coachworks bodied Leyland Olympian new in May 1983 as West Yorkshire 1820.

On the right are two of the Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Darts allocated to Bury St. Edmunds for the town services in the form of 362 (V362 DVG) and 359 (V359 DVG).

Two sites occupied by a large car dealership (Arriva at the time of this photograph) stood either side of the garage premises and when the latter was vacated it was subsequently purchased and demolished. This enabled the dealership to expand and occupy the whole length of the eastern side of Cotton Lane.
