Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) 44005 (BP16 UWT) working Mill Road shuttle 2B - 5 Jul 2019 (P1030015)

Friday 5 July 2019 – During the period of closure of Mill Road Bridge for railway maintenance service 2, which links Cambridge North railway station to the City Centre and Addenbrookes Hospital or Sainsbury’s, would normally travel via Mill Road and the Mill Road bridge. In order to serve the Mill Road communities either side of the closed bridge shuttle services were provided. Service 2B ran from Sainsbury’s into Mill Road on the east side of the bridge and service 2A ran from the City Centre to Mill Road on the west side of the bridge.

Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) 44005 (BP16 UWT) is seen in Cockburn Street when working service 2B to Sainsbury’s at Coldhams Lane/Brookes Road. In order to turn round for the return journey the shuttle buses on this side of the bridge travelled via Hope Street, Argyle Street and Cockburn Street in order to reach Mill Road and return to Sainsbury’s. 44005 initially ran on services in Ashford, Kent before moving to South Wales.
