Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) 44006 (BV66 GRZ) working Mill Road shuttle 2A - 5 Jul 2019 (P1030043)

Friday 5 July 2019 – During the period of closure of Mill Road Bridge for railway maintenance, service 2 which links Cambridge North railway station to the City Centre and Addenbrookes Hospital or Sainsbury’s, would normally travel via Mill Road and the Mill Road bridge. In order to serve the Mill Road communities either side of the closed bridge shuttle services were provided. Service 2A ran from the City Centre to Mill Road on the west side of the bridge and service 2B ran from Sainsbury’s into Mill Road on the east side of the bridge.

Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) 44006 (BV66 GRZ) is seen turning from Mill Road to Gwydir Street when working service 2A from the City Centre. In order to turn round for the return journey the shuttle buses on this side of the bridge travelled via Gwydir Street, Hooper Street and Kingston Street in order to reach Mill Road and return to the City Centre. 44006 initially ran on services in Ashford, Kent before moving to South Wales.
