Portsmouth Leyland PD2/12 - 7 Jul 1976

Wednesday 7 July 1976 - In the Spring months of 1956 Portsmouth Corporation Transport added 25 Leyland PD2/12 buses to its fleet with MCW bodywork in the registration block LRV 975-999 numbered 83-107.

This scanned snapshot shows one of them in later life after conversion to open top parked near South Parade Pier in Southsea. It is not a very good photograph to begin and the print is on the type of bubbled photographic paper isn’t good for clarity before or after scanning.

According the excellent fleet list records of Peter Gould numbers 94, 96, 99, 100, 103 and 104 were converted to open top between 1970 and 1972 and were re-numbered 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively on conversion.

Looking good for a twenty year old bus.
