Deba-Mebo (NMVB contractor) 151120 (8850 P) at Willebroek – 1 Jun 1990

Friday 1 June 1990 – A rather striking Gardner powered Neoplan N4015 operated by Deba-Mebo of Heffen on contract to NMVB (Nationale Maatschappij van Buurtspoorwegen). 151120 (8850 P) was new in November 1989 and was seen heading out of Willebroek towards Mechelen on service 256.

The photograph was taken from the passenger seat of a British right-hand drive car that was in the line of traffic heading in the opposite direction.

NMVB operated its own large bus and tram fleet which carried four digit fleet numbers but the buses operated by contractors carried six digit fleet numbers – the first four digits relate to the NMVB contract number with the final two digits are the operators own fleet number. Note how the bus also carries fleet number 120 as well as 151120.
