D and G Coaches LIB 5738 at Barton Mills - 19 Aug 1995 (281-01)

Saturday 19 August 1995 – The Panorama Elite body was launched by Plaxton in 1969 coinciding with the revised regulations that permitted 12 metre long vehicles. The lower height profile of coaches at the time always seemed to make coaches of this new length appear particularly long to me. The normal seating capacity for such coaches was 53 although some operators fitted 57 seats as was the case with LIB 5738, a Leyland Leopard operated by D and G Coaches (of Stevenage I believe). It was seen at the Picnic Area on the A1065 close to Fiveways roundabout at Barton Mills in Suffolk.
