Eastern Counties VR206 (XNG 206S) crossing the temporary bridge in Mildenhall - 19 Mar 1985

Tuesday 19 March 1985 – The bridge over the River Lark on the road out of Mildenhall towards Worlington and Barton Mills was rebuilt and widened in early 1985. During the building work a temporary bridge was put in place between the old bridge and what was Martins Warehouse (which later became the Bridge Mill apartment building). All three buildings in this photo are still present in 2016. In this view an Eastern Counties Omnibus Company double decker bus was crossing the temporary bridge heading into Mildenhall. Bury St. Edmunds. VR206 (XNG 206S), an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR new in February 1978.
