TRM 4.16kV - Brewton, AL
T. R. Miller Co. operates a large saw mill in Brewton, Alabama. This saw mill supplies treated power poles to utilities all over the country.
It was interesting to have a look at the company-owned electric power distribution system that serves the saw mill. It is fed off of a substation, which is tapped from the 46 kV grid, and features 4.16 kV distribution lines with extremely heavy conductors.
Visible in this photo is a heavy voltage-regulator bank mounted on a platform.
