I thought this was an interesting setup here. A customer set up shop in a remote area of Butte County, ID; leaving Pacificorp with the only choice of tapping their service off of a 69kV line. Here you can see a series of transformers stepping 69kV down to secondary service.

The larger can on the left is a 69kV/7.2kV can, and the smaller can on the right is a 7.2kV/240V/120V distribution can.

This is probably the closest I've seen to direct 69kV distribution.

Good luck finding a tree out here in the desert! I hope you don't end up crashing into one of those transmission poles. ; )

Interesting setup there. I wonder if there is such thing as a 69kV to 240v distribution transformer? I know there are 46kV to 240v distribution transformer.
