Trail, BC, Canada. It is amazing how much more the camera sensor can pick up than the naked eye. This is my first time seeing the lights at this latitude, 49th parallel. I used to live further north and could see them regularly. The solar flare certainly extended the range for more people to witness them.

Aurora Borealis (Armonk, New York)—May 11, 2024. A powerful coronal mass ejection (CME) produced an intense geomagnetic storm that produced Auroral displays in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The displays reached areas where Auroras are rarely seen.

So rund 22h00 Gassi gegangen mit Sam, Himmel sah etwas komisch aus. Wieder zu Hause erzählte Gisela das Tanja einen pink Himmel gesehen hat und ein Bekannter aus Bennekom hatte Polar Licht fotografiert. Also nicht ins Bett gegangen sondern nach Kapellenmoor gefahren.Da Bilder gemacht und später noch aus unserem Garten. Die Letzteren waren am Spektakulärsten. Dafür habe ich Gisela aus dem Bett geholt Stärkstes Polarlicht seit 31.10.2003.
