Special meadows for sheep and lambs - HFF
Salt meadows are the upper part of the tidal zone and develop at the end of the Bay of Mont Saint Michel, where fine sediments are deposited, protected from waves and strong currents. The plants that colonise this area are adapted to the presence of salt water. Sheep and lambs graze in these meadows where the soil is salty due to the high concentration of minerals caused by the tides, giving the meat its distinctive taste.
