"Feet in the water"
The old village is nestled on its hill and at its foot the mill district; so village at the top, river at the bottom (1st PiP) ... The history of Sainte-Suzanne was also made over the water and at the slow pace of these many mills in the Erve valley.

A very charming scene from the old days. In England such houses would be dirty stone, and it would be raining!
Best Wishes, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!
