I made this picture on a small part of a fallen tree. At once I saw the heart on the trunk when I was looking for small mushrooms... Love was in the tree ;)

Toch was het nog een heel vette dikke boomstam, die op de grond lag Jaap. Hij was zooooo mooi, dat ik er wel een tijdje bij langs gelopen ben om mijn mooiste plaatjes te schieten op hele kleine stukjes ;) Dankjewel voor het complimentje.

It's a very nice artwork of nature.
But is that the bark of the tree? If not, I think unfortunately it does'nt fit to the theme of today!

Yes Klaus, it's the bark of a tree.... Is trunk not the right word? The upper lay was gone and so you see this phenomene from the dry and wet tree...

I'm not quite shure, what you mean Chris. Bark is the outest layer of a tree, its "skin". Below that is the trunk, which consists of solid wood. You say "the upper lay was gone" - so the trunk has no more bark.
But the structure of the visible surface of the old tree - however it may be - is still very inspiring. I see the heart, but I also see a face with two eyes and a nose.
