Great photo, Doug. They are actually Eurasian collared doves (Streptopelia decaocto), not collard doves. Native to Asia, they expanded to western Europe in the 19th century. A few captives escaped in the Bahamas in the 1970s and have since colonized almost all of North America.

I remember back in the late 60's seeing my first one of these. They were very rare in the UK back then but now they are absolutely everywhere !!!!
