Cool pool

Cool pool
Best enlarged

Pool beneath the weir on the Eller Beck at Goathland, North York Moors. The water colour is due to the peat content of the water.

Great shot, Doug and thank you for the explanation. I thought a Tango or Fanta or Orangina lorry had spilt its load at a bridge upstream from here!

Many thanks Andy, much appreciated. I think the angle of the sunlight passing through the peat particles suspended in the water and the light shade of the rocks in the water created this rather bright colour.

Another fab scene here Doug, see this colouring in the water all the time in the Peaks, they say it is the minerals left behind from the Victorian industry? another YS from me. Have a Good Week...Bill.

Glad that you like it Bill, thanks for the kind comments. There was some mining on the moors (lead I think) but not is this area, but I'm no expert, so it could be the result of past industrial activity of some kind.
