Das ist doch ein ... That's a ...
... Kleiner Fuchs (Aglais urticae) oder? Es fällt aber auf, dass der Tagfalter im Bild etwas größer und etwas stumpfer gefärbt ist. Tatsächlich ist im Bild ein Großer Fuchs (Nymphalis polychloros) zu sehen, der dem Kleinen Fuchs außerordentlich ähnlich ist. Die beiden Falterarten sind nicht näher miteinander verwandt! Sicher kann man beide Arten nur unterscheiden, wenn man sich den Vorderflügel betrachtet: Beim Großen Fuchs sieht man 4 schwarze Flecken (siehe Notiz), beim Kleinen Fuchs findet man an dieser Stelle nur 3 schwarze Flecken (siehe PiP und Foto bei fotocommunity, s.u.)
Der große Fuchs kommt in Deutschland recht selten vor und steht auf der Vorwarnliste der Roten Liste. Sein Vorkommen ist u.a. an Streuobstbestände, die immer seltener werden, gebunden.

... small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) or? It is noticeable, however, that the butterfly in the photo is somewhat larger and somewhat duller in colour. In fact, the photo shows a large tortoiseshell (Nymphalis polychloros), which is extremely similar to the small tortoiseshell. The two butterfly species are not closely related! You can only distinguish between the two species by looking at the forewing: In the large tortoiseshell you can see 4 black spots (see note), in the small tortoiseshell there are only 3 black spots at this point (see PiP and photo at fotocommunity).
The large tortoiseshell is quite rare in Germany and is on the warning list of the Red List. Its occurrence is linked to orchards, among other things, which are becoming increasingly rare.
