I found this strange resin exudation in the backlight on a cherry tree in summer. It is "gummosis", a dreaded disease of deciduous trees, especially stone fruit (cherry, plum, etc.). The disease can be caused by heat and drought, but also by bacteria and fungi. It is practically impossible to fight the disease, but it makes sense to provide the tree with a good supply of water and fertiliser. It is also important to choose the right location.
