Frühlingsschnake: Die Fortpflanzungszeit beginnt - Cranefly: The breeding season begins

Recently, while walking through the fields, I noticed the many long legged "gnats" flying in the fields on the path. On closer inspection, they turned out to be a cranefly namely Tipula vernalis. Many of them were in copula and sometimes flew as a duo through the landscape. The spring-like temperatures were certainly the trigger for the reproductive behaviour.
There is no need to be afraid of these craneflies, because Tipula vernalis cannot sting and is completely harmless. As an adult insect (imago), craneflies can only ingest water or exposed nectar.
In the PiP, another copulation pair.
