Insekten-Kamasutra (1)__Insect Camasutra (1)

In this rather daring mating position on swaying dried grass and light gusts of wind with the danger of falling, I found this butterfly pair of the new forest burnet (Zygaena viciae) on a sunny afternoon yesterday. Along with the six-spotted burnet (Zygaena filipendulae), this species is the most common of the burnets found in Central Europe.
The Butterflies are found in sunny, flower-rich meadows. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of various papilionaceous plants (Fabaceae).
