Cárdenas - Plaza Malacoff

Cárdenas - Plaza Malacoff
This is Malacoff Square, in the city of Cárdenas, the first public building of its kind in Cuba. Its construction dates from 1859. With a cast iron structure, a technique previously unknown in America, it became an example of iron-glass architecture. There are plans to restore the currently abandoned building. More at:

A superb shot Berny............this place must have been magnificent back in the day. The idea of restoring it seems a great idea, but I wonder if the area will be able to sustain the proposed shopping centre?

A super captured in the PiP as well.
