A very interesting place that I have seen on one of my trips too.
The 500-year-old Jewish cemetery of Marrakech is very impressive in its size and its historical significance. The cemetery also shows how closely the relationship between the Muslim and the Jewish population in Morocco and Marrakech was, as the cemetery is within the old city wall and in the immediate vicinity of the royal palace. It is also very nice to see that the cemetery is maintained by the Muslim population, although the majority of the Jewish population has emigrated to Israel. During a visit to Marrakech, it is important to visit the cemetery. With its white tombstones, the whole complex looks like a large sea of marble stones.

I love this series of the Jewish Cemetery Berny...............it's been kept in beautiful condition. This one is my favourite - beautifully composed in lovely light. The sky is particularly nice.
