Bergfex club has replied to uwschu clubHinzu kommt: Das Stahlseil dient nur dazu, den mit Sicherheit tödlichen Sturz in die Tiefe zu verhindern. Fallen darf man trotzdem nicht. Denn dann rutschen die Karabiner bis zu 5 Meter hinab bis zum nächsten Bohrhaken. Danach erst straffen sich die Haltegurte des Klettersteigsets, wobei man weitere 3 Meter tief fällt. Insgesamt können es bis zu 10 Meter werden, ehe man - wähscheinlich mit mehreren Frakturen - liegenbleibt. Das heißt: Fallen ist im Kletterstieg absolut zu vermeiden, weil man mit großer Sicherheit schwer verletzt wird.. So etwas kommt glücklicherweise extrem selten vor, weil alle Klettersteiggeher es wissen, und keiner mit Knochenbrüchen im Hubschrauber zu Tal fliegen will.
Deshalb soll man einen Klettersteig nie alleine begehen. Im Ernstfall ist man wahrscheinlich außerstande, sein Handy zu bedienen, um die Rettung anzurufen. Noch schlimmer ist allerdings, wenn man nicht aufschlägt, sondern irgendwo in der Luft baumelt. Sich aus eigener Kraft, nur mit den Händen, 3 Meter an einem dünnen Seil hochzuziehen, schafft kaum Jemand. Ohne Partner ist man dann in einer extrem kritischen Situation.
