Around The Corner From Anywhere ...
This scene was captured for this week's Sunday Challenge, which had the theme of what's left.
I spotted this discarded can lying against the perimiter fence of Allertonshire school in Northallerton and thought it ideal for the challenge. I also liked the crispness of the brand on what appeared to be a fairly new can and the surrounding shadows, which I hoped would give the shot some interest.
Sadly, although Coke has been around since 1886 and been generally available in cans since 1960, many people still struggle it seems to either deposit the empty cans in a litter bin or take it home for recycling.
And so I felt the slogan that the company used way back in 1927 to promote the product provided an ideal title for my shot, as this photograph really could have been taken around the corner from anywhere.
