1977 Lancia Beta Monte-Carlo - THW 547S

1977 Lancia Beta Monte-Carlo - THW 547S
This lovely Pininfarina designed mid-engined sports car was produced by Lancia in Italy from 1975 to 1981.

This is actually one of two shots I'm uploading of this car so please have a look at them both and see what's troubling me about it because believe me there's something not quite right.

Oh, and while you're at it you might be able to tell me if these models should be described as Monte Carlo or Montecarlo. Wikipedia says the latter, but I'm not totally convinced as the badge has it hyphenated.

Karen's Place, , have particularly liked this photo

Spot on Karen if you mean the actual registration number: THW 547S on the front and THN 547S on the rear ... how strange!

Oh yes, sorry. They are called license plates here in the US. I didn't know what else to call them. Isn't that just strange, the different letters and colors too. I can't imagine it will go unnoticed by the authorities for too long if it isn't "correct." Is that right Paul?

The colours are okay Karen it's just that there's that one letter that's different on the front to that which appears on the rear. I'm guessing they went to get new plates made at some point and somehow they produced them like that and nobody noticed. Quite bizarre!
