1988 Austin Mini - E755 MHN

Off and running then ... time to start another album and this time one that hasn't been featured on flickr. Staged on the outskirts of Stokesley, North Yorkshire, Classics On Show 2013 was an interesting and diverse event as I hope my photos will show. First to be uploaded is this very tidy looking Austin Mini,

1958 Austin-Healey 100 - 385 YUC

15 Jun 2013 6 734
The Austin-Healey 100 is a sports car, which was built from 1953 until 1956. It was developed by the legendary Donald Healey to be produced in-house by Healey's small car company in Warwick and named by them for the car's ability to reach 100 mph (160 km/h).

Detail shot of the front end of that rather beautiful Austin- Healey 100.

1970 Ford Mustang - ABW 207H

Sadly, there were only a handful of American cars at this show. This is a detail shot of one of them ... a Mach 1 Mustang or so I believe?

Another detail shot of that gorgeously green Mustang ... expect a few more of these in due course!

1973 Bedford CF Dormobile Landcruiser - NGV 663M

Had enough of those increasingly common VW Campervans (joke in case anyone is unsure) then what you need is one of these beauties! "The Dormobile was not invented as such - it grew from a need. It had been noticed that traders were putting cushions into their vans to take the family out. This led to a Utility vehicle - built on the Ford chassis. The vehicle could work all week and on a Sunday the seats could be folded down for the family" ... and so it began! Source: www.dormobile.org.uk/Dormobile_History.html

2007 Banham New Speedster - H661 PEF

15 Jun 2013 7 6 1387
Banham was a maker of kit cars from the late 1970s until 2004, at which time the company was taken over by Rally Sport Replicas Ltd who themselves ceased trading in mid-2005. As far as I can tell this is what was known as the Banham Spyder, which was evidently inspired by the Porsche 550. This particular car was first registered in 2007.

1967 Morris Mini - PGF 213E

Okay, time for a "mini-break" ... Monte Carlo or bust! See what I did there? ;)

Here another shot of the little red Mini that started this album off. I think this was taken as it first entered the showground, either that or at the end when he was leaving - duh!

1993 Rover Mini Cooper - L6 VOD

15 Jun 2013 3 739
Here's another Mini for all you lovers of one of Britain's finest, albeit a slightly newer version than the last one to be uploaded. And with what sounds, to me at least, like it would make an ideal plate for some yet be created super villain to take on Superman: Commander Vod, you have your orders - find Kal-El and destroy him!

1967 Morris Mini - RWW 895F

And that's us reached the end of my "mini-break", at least for the moment. Quite fitting to end with this one as it was one of the oldest and yet the cleanest of the 'little' cars they had on show.

Now then, is this: a very large man taking photos; a very small car; or maybe both? Yeah, my money is on option three too!

Dogs At Car Shows

The only dog that has ever bitten me was a Jack Russell. However, I still found this little chap rather cute!

1970 Ford Cortina Mk2 1600 E - XKH 177H

15 Jun 2013 11 8 2569
The chap who owned this asked if I'd mind taking a few shots of it. So we took it out of the main showground to a quieter area. I did email him copies afterwards, but never heard back from him sadly. Just hope he was happy with the shots!

Couldn't help but think this chap had a timeless quality about him - a bit like his car!

1987 JBA Falcon Kit Car - D394 SHE

15 Jun 2013 6 6 2029
JBA has been building classically modelled cars since 1982. The original company, JBA Engineering, was named after the first letter of the surnames of the three partners that founded the company, Ken Jones, John Barlow and Dave Ashley. John Barlow later left the company and JBA Engineering continued producing kit car packages until 2004, when the company was sold. Since the sale no kit or factory built cars have been made, and in 2007 JBA Engineering was dissolved by Companies House. In 2008, JBA Motors set in motion plans to re-engineer and resurrect the JBA Falcon, and 2011was relaunched at The National Kit Car Motor Show - Stoneleigh. JBA Motors currently manufacture the BMW based JBA Falcon as both a kit package and as a fully factory finished car. Source: www.jbamotors.co.uk

2003 TVR T350C - T3 SOX

15 Jun 2013 3 2 800
Same show, but much more a 'modern classic' if you like. The TVR T350C is a sports car that was manufactured by TVR from 2002 to 2006. It was based on the TVR Tamora, and powered by a 3.6 litre engine.

If memory serves me right this was a late, but nonetheless very welcome arrival.
