The Château de Tours is a castle built in the 11th century, the building has a Carolingian architecture and it was the residence of the Lords of France.
Until the 2000s, the Royal Castle was used as an aquarium, with 1,500 fish of 200 different species. In August 1913 the castle was put under monument protection.
Today the building houses mainly exhibitions.
