KS034 Imma diplospila

KS034 Imma diplospila
Immidae? - Wingspan: 25mm.

Two specimens were recorded on the 3rd September at the hotel. My thanks to Ryan for suggesting the family, but so far there isn't any indication of a species identity that I can find to confirm it. A further point of information is that the underwings are a uniform matching black. Now updated with more information provided by Ryan, thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan. Provisionally, I have now used the Genus, although I have not yet found any information / pictures to confirm it.

Here are some images of Imma species:

Clarke, 1969; Catalogue of the Type Specimens of Microlepidoptera in the British Museum (Natural History) described by Edward Meyrick. Vol. 6

Browse through plates 50 to 83. None match exactly but a few are pretty close. Some show sexual dimorphism and unfortunately not every species in this genus has both sexes described.

Thanks for persisting with these problems, Ryan. I've looked through the pages, and the closest specimen from what I can see is Imma diplospila from the Andaman Islands on p119. This is fairly close geographically as well, so provisionally I'll mark it as that species.
