Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf with a Jack-o'-Lantern

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf with a Jack-o'-Lantern
A Vintage Photos Theme Park photo for the theme of trick or treat (go crazy with this one and post as many photos as you want--no limit! Halloween, costumes, masks, skeletons, devils, human monsters, things that go bump in the night, ghostly apparitions, or anything you find scary or creepy).

I thought I'd prime the VPTP pump and post the first Halloween photo this week before Ipernity temporarily goes offline for maintenance tomorrow, October 24.

This photo, "Taken Oct. 29, 1951," as it says on the back, shows kids dressed in Halloween costumes for what I interpret as a Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood, with only a jack-o'-lantern separating the bad wolf from the little girl. Added bonus: the photographer is casting a shadow on the wolf.

Sweet!
Although it seems crazy, the vast majority of Halloween photos I have are post 1982. My others have been posted previously.
I'll try to find something new, but I might wimp out this week.

I broke the rules so you need not feel guilty if you do the same. Sincerely, the evil wizard of the west.

Cute photo, Alan. That wolf costume is more elaborate that I would have expected for 1951. As I found out, the problem with those full-face masks is you don't get to see the kid's face. Little Red seems appropriately unnerved by the wolf encounter.

What a great idea for partner costuming! Yes, Little Red Riding Hood looks either sad, mad or scared, poor thing. I love the commercial costumes of that era that include an illustration of what the costume is on the costume itself, as though people couldn't figure it out otherwise. That always makes me smile.

I'm hoping I'll have something new to share; dropped a few old slides off to be professionally scanned. Hopefully they'll be done before Halloween.
