Wellington's cell.

Wellington's cell.
During the Peninsular War, when General Massena led the napoleonic army in the third invasion of Portugal, the Convent of the Holy Cross of Buçaco became the headquarters of the Anglo-Portuguese coalition, whose commander - Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington - occupied this cell.
The cork details - on interior window shutters, on door frames and on the ceiling - are worth a look.

William Sutherland, Nouchetdu38, Fred Fouarge, Stefani Wehner and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo
