Black Friday
Mere hours after giving thanks for all that they have at the American Thanksgiving family feast, people head to the malls to trample others in an hysterical stampede to purchase cheap products.

Black Friday - Steely Dan
This tripod assisted exposure was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens and 82mm R-72 IR filter using Rollei IR 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
View
Unnamed basin in the Virginia Range above my house, east of Washoe Valley. It actually has interior drainage and in wet winters accumulates a shallow lake--which doesn't persist over the summer! Looking north; that's Reno, Nevada, in the distant basin on the right; the high-rise is the Grand Sierra Hotel, by the airport. The mountain on the skyline to the left is Peavine Peak (8266 ft/2519 m). Local lore has it that you don't try to plant a garden until the snow is all melted off Peavine--typically mid-May or so.
Green River
In the eponymous state park in the eponymous town, Utah. The buildings are in the town--it's a small settlement right on I-70. Altho there is still a bit of irrigation agriculture in the area, the economy now mostly depends on the freeway. Looking upstream; the inset shows the downstream view, with the railroad bridge in the distance.
