I've come across her name a few times. She was, as a Tribune story a couple of years later noted, the city's "favourite comic opera prima donna." She was on the Orpheum circuit for years but also played the Dominion and Pantages. It was while researching the latter that I came across her.

One reason I looked into her is that I couldn't tell if she was local or not,( she was British, if I remember correctly.) I couldn't tell initially because there were so many local stories about her in the papers. Normally when a star came to town the show was written about and it got the usual "advortorial" positive review and maybe an "interview" with the star that seemed almost canned. The journalist would do 98% of the "talking" with maybe a one sentence quote from the star.

Cameron, on the other hand, usually had a couple of lengthy "what the star is like in real life" stories written about her. She talked about her personal life, her travels etc. She seemed quite happy to sit down with local media and chat, (that, or she was such a favourite that she was pursued more than the others.)
