Stabben Fyr

|
Stabben lighthouse was built in 1867 on a small skerry near Florø. It was automated in 1975 and came under protection as a cultural monument in 1999.

Rødberg tåkeklokke

Rødberg fog bell lies at Raudbergneset in Trondheimsfjorden. The white painted wooden structure was built in 1919, is out of service since 1986 and now protected as cultural heritage. It retains the original bell. Rødberg fyrstasjon
Terningen Fyr

|
|
Terningen lighthouse lies on a skerry off Hitra Island in Trondheimsleia. It was built in 1833, automated in 1991 and can now be rented as holiday accommodation . The painting on the lighthouse depicts a white tailed eagle catching a fish.

Wienpietsch lakes are two moor lakes in Müritz National Park which are completely surrounded by forest (mainly birch, alder, pine and some beech). They can only be reached on foot or by bike, a boardwalk leads round the southern lake. In summer grass snakes can often be seen lying in the sun (see inset photo).
Feisnecksee

Feisnecksee is a typical glacial tunnel valley lake. It lies on the southwestern outskirts of the town of Waren and is only separated from the much larger Müritz lake by a 150m wide land bridge. The southern reaches of Feisneck are part of Müritz National Park.

Jabelscher See

Photo taken from Jabel village looking towards Damerow. Jabelscher See is one of the smaller lakes in the Mecklenburg lake district and is situated about 10 km from Waren/ Müritz between Kölpinsee and Fleesensee. The lakes were created when the glaciers retreated after the last (Weichselian) ice age.

Yareta - Azorella compacta

Yareta is a typical plant of the altiplano growing at altitudes between 3200-5200m. It's a compact and dense perennial of the Apiaceae (umbelliferae) family with very small pinkish flowers and grows only 1,5 mm a year. Many of the plants are over 3000 years old. Oreocereus trollii

Oreocereus trollii is a cactus growing in Northern Argentina and Bolivia at altitudes of 3000-4000m. It can grow up to 50cm tall, is covered in (hard) white "wool" and has very sharp yellowish thorns.
This photo was taken on the Tupiza-San Vicente road at El Sillar at appr. 3700m.
Ørnes

Morning blue hour at Ørnes harbour. Ørnes has ca. 1600 inhabitants and is the centre of Meløy kommune. It is a regular Hurtigruten stop and a busy hub for fjord ferries to the many islands in the area. In summer it's a popular tourist spot with Svartisen glacier one of the main attractions.

Hohernzollernbrücke is a railway and foot-/cycle-bridge over the Rhine. The fence separating trains and foot passengers/ cyclists disappears under the tons of love locks. Wiki deutsch

6.30 p.m.- start to a night of aurora hunting. The moon was so bright that everything cast shadows.
