Fisherman's detritus nearly always makes for fascinating photos Gudrun...........and these two are no exception.

I like that tangle of ropes in the main image...........vibrant colour and wonderful detail. The image in the PiP is nice and colourful too, with more stuff to look at.

I don't know if you can watch www.bbcearth.com/shows/planet-earth-iii in Germany. I'm sure you can. Last night it was about the oceans of the world, and the huge problems with plastic fishing nets was embedded within the programme. What with wars, pollution and our reliance on fossil fuels, we are very quickly ruining our beautiful blue planet. Very attractive to look at though, Gudrun.

I can watch- with VPN, pretending I'm in GB, though even then it's not always easy to find a server that isn't blocked;-)
I'm very aware of the plastic pollution, the big ships (Chinese...) are the biggest culprits but every one of us does contribute when shopping:-( I try to buy without plastic packaging or leave the packaging in the shops but it's not always possible.

In this case the longlines were being re-used, we saw Inuit putting small bait fish on them (the green twine is used for that).
