Ilulissat harbour

This reminds me of harbours in Norway. Everyone seemed to own a boat beacuse it was the easiest way to get around the convoluted coastline. Maybe dome people will give up their boats once the new route linking together Norway’s wild western coastline is completed. Mind you, the boats would still be needed to get to the hytter.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! It's like it is in Norway, everybody has a boat. In Greenland they mainly use it for fishing, they catch their own fish. I guess Norwegians will keep theor boats, it's a way of life.

Naja, wenn es keine Wale mehr gibt, fängt man sich eben einen Eisberg. ;-)

Also, Wale hat es dort noch viele, aber in den Hafen kommen sie nicht, die Ölschlieren im Wasser mögen sie wohl weniger und es ist zuviel los;-)

A great image of the harbour, Gudrun. I must admit that, for some reason, I had not thought of people in Greenland having so many boats!

Thank you so much, George! It's the tradition and everybody who can afford it has one! There are also bespoke areas where they keep their dogs and sledges which are used in winter.
