Thanks a lot, Rosa! I think just the same and keep hoping that the padlock craze will soon be over;-) Especially in Hamburg they have so many wastebins with special cigarette disposal that it's extremely bad mannered to just drop the cigarette ends, the next bin is just a few steps away!

Schönen Dank, Werner! Die Kippen wundern mich echt, weil in HH ebenso viele und originelle Papierkörbe rumstehen wie in Wien. Aber manche Leute schaffen es nicht, auch nur 2 Meter weiter zu laufen...

This "love locks" fad has got totally out of hand.............I've read that some councils have had to remove the locks because the weight of them was endangering the bridges!

However................this is a clever shot Gudrun. The shadow of the fence makes a great grid pattern to overly the shadow of the lock on! Very well done :-)

Vielen Dank, Karin! An den 14.2. hatte ich bei der Auswahl gar nicht gedacht, nur dass jetzt mal mit den Schneezäunen ein Ende sein sollte;-) Bei deinen Eltern hat's ohne Schloss wesentlich länger gehalten als bei denen heute mit Schloss!

Hast du auch darunter zu leiden, Gudrun??? Bei mir setzt die Allergie erst ab April ein, vor allem reagiere ich auf die Lindenblüte. In diesem Jahr kommt der Frühling und mit ihm der Pollenflug ziemlich früh.

The love locks have served their purpose - they have provided you with a very original HFF image Gudrun! I like the shadow patterns they make. It is a strange custom when you think about it, - I guess it is something to do with holding the key to your heart, but it could just as easily be about possession and taking away freedom. I never quite understood it. Words are more meaningful and binding than padlocks.Great shot though. HFF and have a good weekend
