Hljóðaklettar are volcanic plugs eroded by Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, showing irregularly curved basalt columns. In the background left an intact crater can be seen.
Hljóðaklettar sind Teil einer Kraterreihe, die vom Fluss Jökulsá á Fjöllum erodiert wurden, sodass nur noch die Schlote mit vielfältig geformten Basaltsäulen übrig blieben. Im Hintergrund links ist ein noch intakter Krater sichtbar.
