Ein wunderbarer Landschaftsgarten ! Strahl viel Ruhe und Gelassenheit aus ! Bin eigentlich oft skeptisch, wenn die Natur künstlerisch 'veredelt' wird. Aber seinen Reiz hat es allemal ! Guten Morgen, Gudrun !

Moin Uli, vielen Dank! Das große Vorbild für diesen Garten waren die Bilder von Claude Lorrain, idealisierte Landschaften mit "klassischen" Bauten wie hier der Tempel und die Brücke. Man wandelt um den aufgestauten Fluss und hat immer neue Blickachsen. Die hatten früher sogar einen "Eremiten" ein einem Cottage!

When we were there last Saturday, the bank next to the Temple of Flora was crowded with picnickers. The only places where I could get a 'free from people' view were inside the temples looking up at the ceilings. :-)))

Oh dear, that does sound crowded indeed! We had lots of people sitting in the grass in front of the Pantheon but not at the temple of Flora. Maybe many visitors last Saturday didn't want to walk far;-)
