Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens

An old lens from Canon's film camera days. It has its origins in the FD mount. The optical scheme was translated across to the EOS system in 1987 and remained in production until 1994. It has a trombone zooming action. On a crop sensor camera the field of view goes from 55mm to 170mm. The fashion photographer Erik Madigan Heck favours this lens, which I discovered after buying one. Mine fell apart…  (read more)

Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens on a Canon EOS 30D camera. ISO 100; f/8; 1/250th; lens at 35mm (field of view equivalent 56mm). I am working within the limitations of the focal lengths provided by this lens. I very much like the lens and wonder if I would like it just as much on a full frame camera. Two factors hold me back. First, I'm not enthusiastic about wide angle photography or getting up close and personal; I've always favoured the telephoto end and you get bags more of that from a lens on a crop sensor camera. Secondly, even an old Canon EOS 5D dating from 2005-2008 (the original 5D) costs around £300 secondhand and is a depreciating asset. The 30D I'm using now was about £70. So I think I'll continue as I'm going.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (Psalm 23). I have no idea why this squalor which is endemic in my area should make me think of the comfort of the 23rd Psalm. Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens on a Canon EOS 30D camera. Hello, Mate

Majestic. Statuesque. Indomitable. Unbowed. Undefeated. Dandelions are one of the most vital early spring nectar sources for a wide host of pollinators. You can eat every part of a dandelion. However, eating the roots has a strong diuretic effect. The name comes from French dent-de-lion, meaning "lion's tooth". Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens on a Canon EOS 30D camera

Demolition

17 Mar 2019 3 3 171
I have replaced my Canon EF 35-105mm lens; the first one was in bad shape from the moment I took possession but it cost me nothing and educated me over what a fine optic this is. The replacement has light scratches on the front element but for all practical purposes they don't impair performance. Canon made three lenses in the 35-105mm configuration. The one to seek out is the first, an f/3.5-4.5 formula with a trombone action. The others bottom out at f/5.6 which is not much of a light gatherer. I use mine on a Canon EOS 30D which is ancient and where 35-105mm translates as 56-168mm. It would not suit everybody.

Canon EF 35-105mm f-3.5-4.5 Lens

14 Jun 2018 1 86
Fashion photographer Erik Madigan Heck undertakes most of his assignments with just one lens: a Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 released in 1987 and long discontinued. It is a push-pull design with an optical formula very similar to, if not the same as, the old FD lens of the same designation. Heck believes the lens, which isn't in the best of shape, possesses a character that benefits his work. (My copy - pictured above - after being held together with sticky tape on the switch which was supposed to provide a choice of auto or manual focus has given up the ghost, so I understand perfectly the phrase 'not in the best of shape'). gizmodo.com/this-fashion-photographer-uses-only-one-beat-up-hand-me-1586569058

Melsome Wood

25 Apr 2016 134
Melsome Wood is a large and dense deciduous woodland blanketing the escarpment above the Avon Vale between Christian Malford village and Bradenstoke, which used to be called 'Clack'. It rises about 215 feet in less than half a mile. There were once two large wood mills in this area with a hamlet called 'Mills Ham'. 'Mills Ham' became corrupted to Melsome. The accent be quite strong round these here parts. That is to say, it used to be. I expect it's all RP now. As part of a Survey of English Dialects undertaken between 1950 and 1961, 313 localities were studied which included Sutton Benger, the village next to Christian Malford as you travel towards Chippenham. The Sutton Benger dialect was one of the furthest away from Standard English that was recorded. Before this part of the Avon valley became home to well-to-do commuters attracted by high speed Inter City express train services and the proximity of the M4 motorway, and property prices rose, and poorer folk moved to the town for work, agriculture being decimated, the local accent was scarcely intelligible to outsiders. If you are very lucky you might still find some aged local person to engage in a conversation which you will find completely mystifying. Streets are attractive when lined with deciduous trees. However, it means surrendering space which could be used for car parking, or greater housing density. Thus the practice has become less common. Canon EOS 40D and Canon EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. Canon introduced the EF 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5 lens with the first EOS cameras in 1987. It is a slide zoom with an optical configuration very similar to the FD lens of the same description.
