I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.
John Masefield, 'Salt-Water Ballads', 1902

Over many years I have seen and photographed Keren Lynn, number WH407, in Weymouth harbour. On my recent outing she looked a bit forlorn. I checked her status in the UK fishing vessel lists and in the changes for February, 2019, she had been deleted from the lists. Perhaps her days as a fishing boat are now officially over. What a shame.
'Karen Lynn' was built in 1988.
Weymouth, Dorset. Photographed with my Nikon D40, a newly-acquired camera, practically new in a carton missing only the kit lens. Not bad for £59. And light as a feather (nearly).
Lyme Bay, Summer 2014. Nikon D2Xs and Tokina AT-X Pro 50-135mm f/2.8 lens. 1/160th at f/6.7; 200 ISO. 60mm (field of view equivalent to 90mm on a full frame camera).
This is the third occasion I have posted a fresh edit of this photograph originally captured on colour negative film in 1997. This version benefits from a fairly robust black and white conversion. Thus far it is the closest I have got it to a state I regard as visually invigorating.
