She fills the role very well. I miss papers like the International Times, or perhaps I just miss a world that was, as I remember it, far less cynical and manipulative than today.

There is an online archive. I discovered it via Wikipedia, which provides a link. I knew IT was metropolitan in outlook but I doubted its depth and sophistication. There was a strong bias towards a certain genre of pop music (they disdained to call it 'pop' but that's splitting hairs) and that attracted the recording industry and gig people to advertise quite heavily. With a readership of 50,000 at best, and a fortnightly publishing schedule, I wondered who was selling out to whom. The capitalist model was ascendant but I never considered political thought to be IT's strong suit anyway. It filled a gap for young people, that's for sure, but not all young people. It was a bit elitist really. I don't think I was sufficiently qualified.
