Chapel Lock, Kennet & Avon

Chapel Lock, Kennet & Avon
In 1976 locks 8 and 9 were joined together to make a large Deep Lock which at 19.5 feet deep is the second deepest lock in the U.K. for normal narrowboat use.
Photographed with a Nikon D2Xs and a Tamron SP 17-50mm f/2.8 lens. When the boat had cleared the lock, and the man was on terra firma, he enquired after the kit I was using, and told me he was a professional photographer using Hasselblad kit with a digital back. It's not every day you meet someone who operates in the rarified stratosphere of professional photography.
