ATCs: October 2006

All these works were originally made to fit on a board scrap 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (or 64 x 89 cm). Images here are somewhat larger than the original size.

All images have the original white border (usually about 1/8" to 1/4") on the physical card clipped out. The signatures were added in Photoshop. (The real cards are each hand-signed on the back.) All images have also been polished in Photoshop …  (read more)

Variation worked in Photoshop, using mostly the "Paint: Palette Knife" option. (I didn't plan on that "cracked shell" effect. It was just a fortunate accident.)

Same card as previous, posted 10/12/06 and smoothed with a few tools. Then run through the "Fragment" filter, which gives it more of a textile-type quality than some of the filters actually named for textiles.

Originally posted 10/13/06. There's two "Blur" filters at work in this version: "Gaussian" for the fruit and "Smart" to pop out the figure and the can a little bit.

Same card as before, run through the "Distort: Wave" filter. Except for the head, which got the "Blur: Smart" treatment to smooth it out. A few other tools were used as well. Posted 10/14/06

Same card. This one got a buffet of effects. Paint Bucket to make the pink background flatten and recede some, and "Artistic: Ink Outlines" to make the dress stand out more. Those are the main ones. This was an early card and not any great shakes, so I felt comfortable messing around with it a lot. Originally posted 10/17/06.
